The author gives an easy proof of following fact: Let \(F\) be the Milnor fibre of an even-dimensional isolated hypersurface singularity which is not an ordinary double point. Then any \({\mathbb{C}}\)-valued bilinear form on \(H_ n(F;{\mathbb{Z}})\otimes {\mathbb{C}}\), \(n=\) dimension of the singularity, being invariant under the total monodromy action is a constant multiple of the intersection form on \(F\).
