This textbook is intended for self-study. Each chapter starts with an introduction and includes an abbreviated outline, presentation, detailed outline, practice exercises with answers and tests. Test answers are at the end of the book. The first edition of the book comes from 1994. This edition consists of 12 chapters: 1. Introduction to logistic regression; 2. Important special cases of the logistic model; 3. Computing the odds ratio in logistic regression; 4. Maximum likelihood techniques; 5. Statistical inference using maximum likelihood techniques; 6. Modeling strategy guidelines; 7. Modeling strategy for assessing interaction and confounding; 8. Analysis of matched data using logistic regression; 9. Polytomous logistic regression; 10. Ordinal logistic regression; 11. Logistic regression for correlated data; 12. GEE examples; 13. Other approaches for analysis of correlated data. In comparison with the first edition chapters 9--13 are new and chapter 8 has been expanded. At the end of the book there are computer programs for logistic regression.
