A theorem on the existence and uniqueness of a nonlinear second-order homogeneous Dirichlet problem is presented. The theorem follows as a generalization of some results given by \textit{T. Trif} [Demonstr. Math.~38, 331--340 (2005; Zbl 1074.34018)]. The proof is based on the Wigner and Lees inequalities. Finally, two particular cases of the theorem are given as examples.
