SDPS-hyperplanes of finite dual polar spaces have been introduced in [\textit{B. De Bruyn} and \textit{P. Vandecasteele}, J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 112, 194--211 (2005; Zbl 1085.51006)]. The present article generalizes the definition of SDPS-hyperplanes to the infinite case. It characterizes SDPS-hyperplanes of a dual polar space \(\Delta\) as those hyperplanes for which non-deep hexes either are singular or intersect the hyperplane in the extension of an ovoid of a quad. The result generalizes both [\textit{I. Cardinali, B. De Bruyn} and \textit{A. Pasini}, J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 113, 636--646 (2006; Zbl 1097.51001)] asserting that every hyperplane of a dual polar space of rank at least 3 is singular if all non-deep hexes are singular, and [\textit{H. Pralle} and \textit{S. Shpectorov}, Adv. Geom. 7, No.~1, 1--17 (2007; Zbl 1135.51008)] that investigates the hyperplanes of dual polar spaces of rank 4 which intersect every non-deep hex in the extension of an ovoid of a quad.
