A partial tube in \(PG(3,q)\) is a pair \(\mathcal{T}=\{L,\mathcal L\}\), where \(\{L\}\cup \mathcal L\) is a collection of mutually disjoint lines of \( PG(3,q)\) with the property that for each line \(\pi \) of \(PG(3,q)\) through \(L\), the intersection of \(\pi \) with the lines of \(\mathcal L\) is an arc. In this study the authors generalize the notion of partial tube allowing the ground field to be any algebraically closed field. To a generalized partial tube the authors associate an irreducible surface of degree \(d\) in \({\mathbb P}_{K}^{3}\) providing upper bounds on \(d\).
