A textile system consists of two finite directed graphs, along with two surjective graph morphisms between them, satisfying certain additional properties. The author proves that these morphisms, provided they have the path lifting property, induce groupoid morphisms between the groupoids corresponding to the original graphs. By then using two-dimensional shifts of finite type, the present paper shows how to construct a family of textile systems, and accordingly a family of graph \(C^*\)-algebras. Many examples are given in the paper, which closes by defining two families of Fell bundles which encode the complexity of the two-dimensional shifts.
