The author considers the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions to the quasilinear system \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta_p u=\lambda a(x) f(u,v),\quad &\text{in }\Omega,\\ -\Delta_q v=\mu\cdot b(x)g(u,v),\quad &\text{in }\Omega,\\ u= v= 0,\quad &\text{on }\partial\Omega,\end{cases} \] where \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) with smooth boundary \(\partial\Omega\), \(p,q> 1\), \(\Delta_p u=\text{div}(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u)\), \(\Delta_q v= \text{div}(|\nabla v|^{q-2}\nabla v)\), \(\lambda\), \(\mu\) are positive parameters, and \(a(x)\), \(b(x)\) are bounded functions that can change sign. To this end, the author uses comparison principles and regularity results.
