An absorption law is an identity of the form \(p=x\). The main result of the paper says that if \(q\) is an idempotent term that equals its dual in Boolean algebras then there exists a term \(p\) of the same arity as \(q\) which does not equal its dual in the six-element orthomodular lattice but satisfies the same \(2\)-variable absorption laws in orthomodular lattices as \(q\) does in Boolean algebras.
