The authors study the summability of solutions and their gradients for a class of Cauchy--Dirichlet problems for nonlinear parabolic equations of the type \[ \begin{cases} \displaystyle u_t-\text{div\,}\big(a(x,t,u,\nabla u)\big)=f & \text{in}\;Q,\\ u(x,0)=0 & \text{on}\;\partial_P Q, \end{cases} \] where \(Q\) is the cylinder \(\Omega\times(0,T)\) with a bounded base \(\Omega\subset \mathbb R^N,\) \(N\geq3,\) and parabolic boundary \(\partial_P Q,\) \(a(x,t,\sigma,\xi)\) is a Carathéodory function satisfying suitable monotonicity and structure conditions, and \(f\in L^r(0,T;L^q(\Omega))\) with \(r,q\in[1,\infty).\) Precise results are derived which show how the summability of the datum \(f\) influences the regularity of the weak solutions to the above problem.
