A family \(S\) of \(2^{d+1}\) \(d\)-dimensional subspaces of \(PG(m,2)\) is called a \textit{\(d\)-dimensional dual hyperoval} if any two distinct members of \(S\) intersect in precisely one point, no three members of \(S\) pass through a common point, and the union of the members of \(S\) generates all of \(PG(m,2)\). When \(d=2\), these dual hyperovals have been completely classified in [\textit{A. Del Fra}, Geom. Dedicata 79, No.~2, 157--178 (2000; Zbl 0948.51008)]. In the paper under review, for \(d\geq 3\), a certain set of conditions is given that forces the dual hyperoval to be isomorphic to either the example of \textit{C. Huybrechts} [Discrete Math. 255, No.~1--3, 193--223 (2002; Zbl 1024.51010)] or the example of \textit{M. Buratti} and \textit{A. Del Fra} [Adv. Geom. 2003, Spec. Issue, S254--S270 (2003; Zbl 1047.51001)].
