Let \(H^ p(\mathbb{R}^ n)\), \(0<p\leq 1\), be the real Hardy spaces, and \(H^ p(\mathbb{T}^ n)\) be the periodic counterparts on the \(n\)-dimensional torus \(\mathbb{T}^ n\). The author shows that if \(m(\xi)\) is an \(H^ p(\mathbb{R}^ n)\) Fourier multiplier, then \(\{m(k)\}_{k\in\mathbb{Z}^ n}\) is an \(H^ p(\mathbb{T}^ n)\) multiplier. Conversely, if \(m(\xi)\) is continuous on \(\mathbb{R}^ n\backslash\{0\}\) and \(\{m(sk)\}_{k\in\mathbb{Z}^ n}\) forms a class of multipliers on \(H^ p(\mathbb{T}^ n)\) whose norms are uniformly bounded in \(s>0\), then \(m\) is an \(H^ p(\mathbb{R}^ n)\) multiplier. As a corollary, a restriction theorem for \(H^ p(\mathbb{R}^ n)\) multipliers to \(H^ p(\mathbb{R}^ d)\) \((d<n)\) is given. These are extensions of the famous multiplier theorems of K. de Leeuw in the case of \(L^ p(\mathbb{R}^ n)\), \(1\leq p\leq \infty\).
