The authors propose a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) scheme for the Wigner-Fokker-Planck (WFP) equation with a general potential. Estimates showing convergence and stability of the scheme are provided. The scheme is adaptive and may use both polynomial and non-polynomial basis functions. The DG approach proposed in this paper provides several opportunities to optimize the approximation space.
