The notion of \(s\)-normal spaces has been introduced by Maheshwari and Prasad. Garg and Sivaraj showed that \(s\)-normality is preserved under continuous pre-semiclosed surjections. The author introduces the notion of pre-\(gs\)-closed functions. He studies the basic properties of these functions and gives several interesting implications between some classes of functions, weaker or stronger than pre-\(gs\)-closed. Nevertheless, the main purpose of this new class of functions is to give some nice preservation theorems of \(s\)-normal spaces. For instance, the author shows that \(s\)-normality is preserved under continuous pre-\(gs\)-closed surjections, improving the above-mentioned result by Garg and Sivaraj. Finally, the author offers some preservation theorems for \(s\)-regularity of topological spaces.
