The authors study the deformed \({\mathcal W}\)-algebra, \({\mathcal W}_{q,t}[{\mathfrak g}]\), associated with a simple finite-dimensional Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\). First of all, they present an algorithm to explicitly compute generators of \({\mathcal W}_{q,t}[{\mathfrak g}]\). Then the authors study Verma modules over \({\mathcal W}_{q,t}[{\mathfrak g}]\), in fact, they give an explicit formula for the determinant of the Shapovalov form, generalizing the original result by Kac and Kazhdan for contragradient Lie algebras. This formula is the main result of the paper. Finally, the authors present an explicit construction of the center of \({\mathcal W}_{q,t}[{\mathfrak g}]\) in the case when \(t^2\) is a primitive \(k\)-th root of unity. In the Appendix the authors illustrate the results of the paper with examples of \({\mathcal W}_{q,t}[{\mathfrak g}]\) algebras associated with simple Lie algebras of rank 2.
