This paper uses the theory of continuous lattices, in particular the relation ``way below'' to simplify significantly the fuzzy metric first introduced by Erceg. This pointwise fuzzy metric induces the same fuzzy topology as that of Erceg and reduces to the Hausdorff metric on a crisp set. Some properties of such fuzzy metric spaces are studied, in particular that of countable products.
