The rigidity result of this paper concerns a special class of compact Riemannian manifolds which includes Riemannian products \(X \times S^ 1\), for any compact Riemannian manifold \(X\), nonproduct flat tori \(T^ k\), and Riemannian products \(X \times T^ k\). These are manifolds that have a parallel vector field. The main result is that compact Riemannian manifolds with a parallel vector field are determined by their geodesic flows.
