Let \(K\) be the set of nonempty compact subsets of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\). \(K\) is a complete separable metric space with the Hausdorff distance denoted by haus \((\cdot,\cdot)\). In this paper the author considers an initial value problem for a differential inclusion of the form (1) \(\dot x \in F(x,t)\), \(x(t_ 0) = x_ 0 \in I\), \(t \geq t_ 0\), where \(I\) is a compact set in \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) and \(F : \mathbb{R}^ n \times \mathbb{R} \to K\) is a set-valued map. The first-order approximation associated with (1) at \(t=t_ 0\) is defined by \(L(t) = \{x_ 0 + (t-t_ 0) v:x_ 0 \in I\), \(v \in F(x_ 0, t_ 0)\}\), while the attainable set \(A(t)\) is defined by \(A(t) = \{x(t) : x(\cdot)\) is a solution of (1)\}. The main result of this paper is that if \(F\) is continuous and convex-valued, then \(\text{haus} (A(t), L(t)) = 0(| t - t_ 0 |)\) as \(t \to t^ +_ 0\) with the rate of convergence depending only on the bound and the modulus of continuity of \(F\) in a neighborhood of \(I \times \{x_ 0\}\). In addition, the author obtains convergence rates for polygonal approximations of the attainable set.
