The authors define a quadric representation for the product of two submanifolds immersed in hyperquadrics of \(\mathbb{R}_t^{m+1}\) and \(\mathbb{R}_s^{n+ 1}\). Thus if \(x:M^j_c\to\overline M^m_\mu\subset\mathbb{R}^{m+1}_t\) and \(y:N^l_d \to \overline N^n_\nu \subset\mathbb{R}_s^{n+1}\) are two isometric immersions into hyperquadrics, they define the quadric representation from the product \(M^j_c \times N^l_d\) by \(\varphi(p,q)= x(p)\otimes y(q)\). The main question for the authors is to determine information about the immersions \(x\) and \(y\) from the quadric representation. In particular, they study the equation \(\Delta H_\varphi =\lambda H_\varphi\), and are able to completely determine when this equation holds.
