The main result of the present paper establishes a connection between the \(n\)-dimensional Fourier transform of a radial function \(f\) belonging to a given class and the one-dimensional Fourier transform of some related function. Then the corresponding one-dimensional results are applied in order to obtain asymptotic formulas for the Fourier transform of \(f\). In particular, applications to the multiplier problem are included. The following function classes are mainly considered: functions whose fractional Weyl derivative of certain order is locally absolutely continuous or of locally bounded variation, respectively.
