Transient and large time behaviors of solutions to heterogeneous reaction-diffusion equations (Q1061309): Difference between revisions

The authors consider reaction-diffusion problems of the form \[ \partial u/\partial t=(\partial /\partial x)(d(x)\partial u/\partial x+e(x)u)+\epsilon f(x,u), \] where \(\epsilon\) is a small parameter. They study transient and large time behaviour of the solution by constructing a two-timing function \(\tilde u(t,\epsilon t,x)\) which converges to the solution u(t,x) as \(\epsilon\) \(\to 0\), uniformly in \(t\in (0,\infty)\).
