Let X be a \(T^ n\)-like continuum; that is, X is the limit of an inverse sequence in which each space is the n-dimensional torus \(T^ n\) and each bonding map is a surjection. It is shown that X embeds up to shape in \({\mathbb{R}}^{n+2}\) and, if \(n\geq 2\), that X embeds in \({\mathbb{R}}^{2n}\). The shape-theoretic result is proved by first showing that every n- dimensional compact connected abelian topological group embeds in \({\mathbb{R}}^{n+2}\), and then applying the first author's result [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 40, 297-302 (1973; Zbl 0269.55011)] that every \(T^ n\)-like continuum has the shape of a compact abelian topological group of dimension at most n. The embedding theorems are proved by applying a result of \textit{M. C. McCord} [Can. J. Math. 19, 321-332 (1967; Zbl 0147.230)] on embedding inverse limits in \(R^ n\).
