This paper is a continuation of the authors' previous work [see Commun. Algebra 12, 1595-1626 (1984; Zbl 0545.20023), and Arch. Math. 42, 400-407 (1984; Zbl 0546.20028)] concerning triangle groups, which are groups generated by three elements of order 3 such that any two of them generate a Frobenius group of order 21. These are exactly the groups operating regularly on a rank 3 chamber system whose rank 2 residues are projective planes of order 2. In this paper the authors continue their investigation and as the main result an infinite series of rank 3 chamber systems is described whose rank 2 residues are projective planes of order 2, and which possess regular automorphism groups isomorphic to \(SL_ 3(p)\) or \(SU_ 3(p)\) for some prime p.
