If the set of polynomials orthogonal with respect to a positive measure \(d\psi\) (x) is known, then the polynomials orthogonal with respect to \(d\psi (x)+A\delta (x-x_ 0)\) are found, when \(x_ 0\) is off the interior of the convex set containing the support of \(d\psi\) (x). For \(d\psi (x)=x_+^{\alpha}(1-x)_+^{\beta}dx\) these polynomials were known explicitly. The theorems in this paper complement similar results of \textit{P. Nevai} [Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 213, 185 p. (1979; Zbl 0405.33009)].
