[For part I see the paper reviewed above.] The controllability and attainability properties of switched linear systems in the plane are investigated. A main result is the state-space decomposition theorem which classifies various convex regions in \(R^ 2\) according to their controllability properties. A preliminary investigation into the problem of determining minimum switch trajectories between two points in \(R^ 2\) is also presented.
