Die Einleitung und die beiden ersten Kapitel dieser Schrift behandeln auf S. 1-48 die Lehre von der Drehung eines starren Körpers um einen festen Punkt; die folgenden drei Kapitel machen von dieser Lehre eine Anwendung auf die Erklärung der Bewegungen der Himmelskörper (Präcession, Nutation u. s. w., Rotation des Mondes, der Erde). Aus Mangel an genügender Kenntnis der schwedischen Sprache muss Ref. auf einen genaueren Bericht über die von dem hervorragenden Astronomen gehaltenen und offenbar sehr anregenden Vorlesungen verzichten.
