A tubular nonisothermal- nonadiabatic chemical reactor with consecutive reactions described by a set of three nonlinear parabolic equations is considered. The goal of the paper is threefold: 1) To show that consecutive chemical reactions occurring in a tubular reactor may give rise to period doubling bifurcations and eventually to irregular oscillations. 2) To simplify the set of quasilinear parabolic equations to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. 3) To show that for strongly convective systems all type of oscillations disappear.
