Auszug aus einer Schrift, welche wahrscheinlich in den Transactions erscheinen wird. Es wird angegeben, dass dieselbe über elastische Körper von verschiedenen nicht isotropen Arten handelt. Ihr Ziel ist die Aufstellung von Lösungen der inneren Gleichungen nach aufsteigenden ganzen Potenzen der Variabeln und ihre Anwendung auf Probleme praktischer Art; einige von ihnen sind bereits von De St. Venant, obschon in ganz anderer Weise, gelöst worden.
