Es werden die Bedingungen dafür untersucht, dass eine lineare Differentialgleichung Integrale besitzt, welche periodische Functionen dritter Art sind. Als solche werden Functionen \(F(x)\) bezeichnet von der Eigenschaft \(F(x+\omega)=e^{-\lambda x+\lambda_0}F(x)\), wo \(\lambda\) und \(\lambda_0\) Constanten sind. Es ergiebt sich, dass die Coefficienten der Differentialgleichung \[ y^{(n)}+p_1y^{(n-1)}+\cdots+p_ny=0 \] in diesem Falle die Form haben müssen: \[ p_i=\sum_{\alpha=0}^{\alpha=i}\frac{(n-i+\alpha)(n-i+\alpha-1)\dots(n-i+1)}{1.2.3\dots\alpha}\;\frac{\lambda^\alpha x^\alpha}{\omega^\alpha}\;\varphi_{i-\alpha}(x), \] \[ (i=1,\;2,\dots,n) \] wo die \(\varphi\) einfach-periodische Functionen sind, so dass \[ \varphi_k(x+\omega)=\varphi_k(x) \] ist.
