Let \(X\) be an almost complex closed 4-manifold and \(\sigma\) an anti-holomorphic involution on \(X\). The main results are the following: If \(b_2 ^+(X)-b_1(X) \not\equiv 3\bmod 4\), then \(X/\sigma\) does not admit any almost complex structure. Suppose that \(H_1(X)\) has no 2-torsion and that the set of fixed points of \(\sigma\) is an orientable surface or empty. If \(c_1(X)=0\) then \(X/\sigma\) admits an almost complex structure.
