The author proves that in the Minkowski compactum \(M_n\) every neighbourhood of \(l_2^n\) contains Minkowski spaces for which the Busemann area is not integral-geometric and those for which the Busemann area is integral-geometric. He also shows that if \(n=3\) or \(n\) is sufficiently large then in \(M_n\) a full neighbourhood of \(l^n_\infty\) consists of Minkowski spaces for which the Busemann area is not integral-geometric.
