Let \(f:{\Sigma}_1 \rightarrow {\Sigma}_2\) be a smooth map between compact Riemannian manifolds of constant curvature \(k_1\) and \(k_2\) respectively. The author considers its graph as a submanifold in the product space and evolves it in the direction of its mean curvature vector. The paper has two main results. The first proves the long-time existence of the flow under the following hypotheses: \(k_1 \geq | k_2| \) and \({\text{det}}(g_{ij}+(f^*h)_{ij})<2\). The condition \({\text{det}}(g_{ij}+(f^*h)_{ij})<2\) is equivalent to having the Jacobian of the projection from the graph of \(f\) onto \(\Sigma_1\) greater than \(1/\sqrt{2}\). If, in addition, \(k_1+k_2>0\), it is shown that the graph of \(f\) converges to the graph of a constant map as time goes to infinity.
