Existence of generalized solutions of hyperbolic functional-differential equations (Q1612613): Difference between revisions

The Cauchy problem of the so-called hyperbolic functional-differential equations is considered. The same problem was considered by some others using different approaches, such as the method of bicharacteristics for nonlinear problems in non-functional setting. The present authors extend the above mentioned method to functional setting, and existence of solutions to the Cauchy problem is obtained. Neither motivation of considering such equations nor examples of applications are given.
