    Let \(A=(a_{ij})\), \(B=(b_{ij})\) and \(C=(c_{ij})\) be \(n\times n\) matrices. Suppose that (i) A and B are nonnegative Hermitian, (ii) \(c_{ij}=a_{ij}b_{ij}\), and denote by \(p_ A\), \(p_ B\) and \(p_ C\) the permanents of A, B and C, respectively. In the particular cases \(n=2\) and \(n=3\) the authors verify the inequality \(p_ C\leq p_ Ap_ B\).
