This paper discusses, by means of numerical experiments, the Zabusky- Kruskal discretization of the Korteweg-de Vries equation for solitary saw-toothed wave packet solutions. The effect of numerical dispersion is also discussed. Numerical experiments are shown to agree well with the observed solutions proposed by other authors.
