This paper is an announcement of some general results on abstract local deformation theory in the complex-analytic context. Here semi-universal deformations are constructed as transversal slices to some group actions (in infinite dimensions). Proofs can be found in the joint book with the reviewer [Lokale Modulräume in der analytischen Geometrie (1987)].
