In the paper under review, the author studies the cohomology groups of a toric arrangement associated with the root system \(A_{n}\). Let us recall that a toric arrangement contained in an \(n\)-dimensional torus \(X\) is a finite set of subtori. Let \(\Phi\) be a root system, \(\triangle = \{\beta_{1}, ..., \beta_{n}\}\) be a set of simple roots and \(\Phi^{+}\) be the set of positive roots of \(\Phi\) with respect to \(\triangle\). We consider \(\Phi\) as a set of vectors in some real Euclidean vector space and let \(M\) be the \(\mathbb{Z}\)-linear span of \(\Phi\). Define \(X = \mathrm{Hom}(M, \mathbb{C}^{*})\). The Weyl group \(W_{\Phi}\) of \(\Phi\) acts on \(X\) as \[(\chi .g)(v) = \chi(g.v).\] For each \(\alpha \in \Phi\) one defines \[A_{\alpha} =\{ \chi \in X : \chi(\alpha)=1\}\] and thus we obtain an arrangement of hypertori in \(X\) associated with \(\Phi\), namely \(\mathcal{A}_{\Phi} = \{A_{\alpha}\}_{\alpha \in \Phi}.\) Let us denote by \(U\) the complement of a toric arrangement in \(X\). The first result of the paper can be formulated as follows. Theorem A. Let \(W_{A_{n}}\) be the Weyl group of the root system \(A_{n}\). Then the total cohomology of the complement \(U\) of the toric arrangement associated with \(A_{n}\) is the \(W_{A_{n}}\)-representation \[H^{*}(U) = \mathrm{Reg}_{W_{A_{n}}} + n\cdot \mathrm{Ind}_{\langle s \rangle}^{W_{A_{n}}}(\mathrm{Triv}_{\langle s \rangle}),\] where \(\mathrm{Reg}_{W_{A_{n}}}\) is the regular representation of \(W_{A_{n}}\) and \(\mathrm{Ind}_{\langle s \rangle}^{W_{A_{n}}}(\mathrm{Triv}_{\langle s \rangle})\) denotes the representation of \(W_{A_{n}}\) induced up from the trivial respresentation of the subgroup generated by the simple reflection \(s = (12)\). The second main result focuses on the Poincaré polynomials. Theorem B. The Poincaré polynomial of the complement \(U\) of the toric arrangement associated with \(A_{n}\) is given by \[P(U;t) = \prod_{i=1}^{n}(1+(i+1)\cdot t).\]
