Regular polyhedra with hidden symmetries (Q1101959): Difference between revisions

The paper is a popular account on some recent discoveries of combinatorially regular polyhedra in real 3-space. The emphasis is on the polyhedral realizations in 3-space of (1) Felix Klein's map \(\{3,7\}_ 8\) of genus 3 discovered by the reviewer and the second author, (2) Dyck's map \(\{3,8\}_ 8\) of genus 3 discovered independently by the first author and U. Brehm, and (3) of Coxeter's regular skew polyhedra in 4-space constructed by standard projection techniques.
