In the present article, the main attention is given to the limit behaviors of the sum \[ s_n(x)=\sum_{i=1}^n{a_i(x)}, \] where \(x\in [0,1]\setminus \mathbb Q\) and \(x=[a_1(x), a_2(x),\dots , a_n(x),\dots ]\), i.e., \(x\) represented by the continued fraction expansion. In particular, sets of the form \[ E_{\varphi(n),\alpha}=\left\{x: \lim_{n\to\infty}{\frac{s_n(x)}{\varphi(n)}}=\alpha,~x\in(0,1)\right\}, \] where \(\alpha\ge 0\) and \(\{\varphi(n)\}^{\infty} _{n=1}\) is a a non-decreasing sequence, are considered. Also, the attention is given to the sets \(E_{\varphi(n),1}\). Specifically, the conditions on \(\varphi(n)\) under which the Hausdorff dimension of \(E_{\varphi(n),\alpha}\) is equal to \(1\) and certain upper and lower bounds on the increasing speed of \(\varphi(n)\) when \(\dim_H{E_{\varphi(n),\alpha}}=1\), are discovered. A new class of sequences \(\{\varphi(n)\}^{\infty} _{n=1}\) under which we obtain the set \(E_{\varphi(n),\alpha}\) having the full Hausdorff dimension, is modeled. The notion of an irregular sequence is given. It is proved that, in the case of an irregular sequence, the Hausdorff dimension of \(E_{\varphi(n),\alpha}\) is less than \(1\). The authors provide surveys on investigations of \(E_{\varphi(n),\alpha}\) and on results related with results obtained in this paper.
