The 3D, viscous, compressible, time-periodic external force driven fluid motion expressed by \[ (\partial\rho/ \partial t)+\text{div} (\rho u)=0,\;\bigl(\partial (\rho u)/\partial t\bigr)+ \text{div}(\rho u\otimes u)-\text{div}\bigl(2\mu D(u)\bigr)- \lambda\nabla (\text{div} u)\nabla p(\rho) =f\rho \] is studied in the paper. The used notations are: \(f(t,x)\) the external force with the property \(f(t+\omega,x) =f(t,x)\), \(\omega>0\), \(\rho(t,x)\) the fluid density, \(u=(u^1(t,x), u^2(t,x), u^3(t,x))\) -- the velocity, \(t\in\mathbb{R}\) -- the time, \(x\) -- the spatial variable, \(\lambda,\mu\) -- viscous coefficients \((\mu >0, \lambda+\mu \geq 0)\), \(D\) -- the deformation tensor \[ D(u)=D_{i,j} (u)=(1/2) \cdot\bigl((\partial u_i/ \partial x_j)+ (\partial u_j/ \partial x_i) \bigr), \] \(p\) -- the pressure \((p(\rho)= a\rho^\gamma\), \(a>0\), \(\gamma>1\), isentropic law). The above system of equations is completed by the boundary conditions: \(u(t,x)\cdot \nu(x)=0\), \(((D(u)(t,x) \cdot\nu(x))_\tau=0\) for \(t\in \mathbb{R}\), \(x\in\partial \Omega\), where \(\Omega\) -- the fluid domain with the boundary \(\partial\Omega\), \(\nu(x)\) -- the outer normal, \((v(t,x))_\tau\) -- the projective of \(v(x,t)\) on the tangent plane to \(\partial\Omega\). The goal of the authors is to find a time periodic solution of the problem for all \(t\in\mathbb{R}\), \(x\in\Omega\) under the conditions \(\rho\geq 0\), \(\int_\Omega \rho(t) dx=m\); \(m\) -- the mass of the fluid moving in \(\Omega\). To simplify the presentation of the solution, the authors restrict the study to the case of the motion in a cube, \((\Omega= [0,\pi]^3)\). They prove that under some conditions for the function \(f(t,x)\) and if \(\gamma>g/3\), there exists a weak solution of the boundary value problem having some properties in the sense of renormalised solutions, a concept introduced by Di Perna and P. L. Lions.
