A function group is a Kleinian group whose domain of discontinuity contains an invariant component. The paper under review deals with convex cocompact function groups. It discusses some aspects of the asymptotic relation between the geometry of the associated hyperbolic manifold and the geometry of the boundary of the convex core (more precisely, of the distinguished component corresponding to the invariant component of the domain of discontinuity). In particular, a characterization of Fuchsian groups among convex cocompact function groups in terms of dynamical invariants is obtained.
