This paper is concerned with linear operators semigroups defined on a space of \(p\)-integrable functions. The main result is a characterization of those semigroups that are dominated. This characterization is carried out in terms of a certain operator valued measure that has bounded range. The authors also show that in this case there exists the modulus semigroup.
