The authors establish a computable upper error bound for a Galerkin approximation of the solution of the Neumann problem in three dimensions. This estimation requires a new technique. The numerical validation of the obtained error estimate and the numerical evidence of the efficiency are the experimental contributions of this paper. Two algorithms generate effective meshes are presented and provided the superiority of adaptive over uniform mesh-refining.
