q-adic spectral analysis of some arithmetic sequences (Q1124631): Difference between revisions

If \(q=(q_ r)_{r\geq 0}\) is a sequence of natural numbers with \(q_ 0=1\), and \(q_ r\geq 2\) for \(r\geq 1\), one can write any positive integer uniquely as \(n=\sum_{r\geq 0}e_ r(n)p_ r\), where \(e_ r(n)\in [0,q_{r+1}-1],\) and \(p_ r=q_ 0q_ 1...q_ r\). A q-adic addition is then defined on \({\mathbb{N}}\) by \[ e_ r(n\oplus m)=e_ r(n)+e_ r(m) mod q_{r+1}. \] Finally a sequence u of complex numbers is said to be q-multiplicative if \(u(0)=1\) and \(u(ap_ r+b)=u(ap_ r)u(b),\) for every a, b, r such that \(b<p_ r.\) The aim of the author is to carry on the q-adic spectral analysis of q- multiplicative sequence, which was initiated by \textit{J. Coquet} [Ann. Inst. Fourier 35, No.2, 1-12 (1985; Zbl 0547.42015)]; see also \textit{B. Mossé} [C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Sér. I 306, No.13, 507-510 (1988; Zbl 0653.10047)]. In particular she gives the q-adic Walsh correlation and spectral measure of a unimodular q-multiplicative sequence. Some results are also given for the q-adic spectral analysis of a unimodular \(q'\)-multiplicative sequence in case \(\gcd (q_ i',q_ j)=1\) for every i and j.
