The general order multivariate Padé-type approximant to a function \(f\) given by its MacLaurin expansion is a (bivariate) rational function \(p/q\) with prescribed denominator \(q\) such that the coefficients of \(qf-p\) vanish for a set of multi-indices \(N\subset\mathbb{N}^2\). In this paper, a general configuration for the set \(N\) is assumed, only satisfying the so-called rectangle rule. Under this restriction integral error formulas for the polydiscs and the ball in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) are derived and convergence results are obtained. The authors discuss some special cases and illustrate their results with numerical examples.
