The present interesting paper is concerned with an intrinsic characterization of homogeneous CR submanifolds in complex spaces, through infinitesimal CR automorphisms. Homogeneous CR manifolds have been widely used in complex analysis as certain approximate models, and thus deserve special attention for general investigations of many problems. The main theorem of the paper can be stated as follows: Let \(M\) be an analytic CR submanifold of codimension \(d\) through the origin in \({\mathbf C}^n\) and suppose there is an approximate infinitesimal dilation \(Y\in \text{hol}(M)\). Then \(M\) is homogeneous. This result answers a question raised by L. Rothschild.
