The paper deals with a numerical solution of a nonlinear parabolic equation with the aid of the finite element method. The time derivative is discretized by the implicit Euler method. The author derives a reliable and efficient a posteriori error estimate using the so-called quasi-norm and a related dual error expression, which gives an equivalence between the error and the residual. No numerical examples are presented.
