\textit{B. Schweizer} and \textit{J. Smítal} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 344, No. 2, 737--754 (1994; Zbl 0812.58062)] introduced distributional chaos. Then \textit{F. Balibrea} et al. [Chaos Solitons Fractals 23, No. 5, 1581--1583 (2005; Zbl 1069.37013)] classified distributional chaos into three types called DC1, DC2, and DC3. Recently, the concept of a distributionally chaotic point was developed by \textit{R. J. Pawlak} and \textit{A. Loranty} [Chaos 29, No. 1, 013104, 9 p. (2019; Zbl 1442.37055)], who proved that an interval map with positive topological entropy has a DC1 point. In the present paper the authors use symbolic dynamics to show that for a continuous interval map with positive topological entropy there is an uncountable perfect set of DC1 points. Furthermore, they show there is a DC2 map of the unit square containing no DC2 point using a triangular map given by \textit{S. F. Kolyada} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 12, No. 4, 749--768 (1992; Zbl 0784.58038)].
