    It is known that the third-order mock theta functions \(\omega(q)\) and \(\nu(q)\) are defined by \[ \omega(q) := \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{q^{2n^2+2n}}{(q;q^2)^2_{n+1}}\quad \text{and} \quad \nu(q) := \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{q^{n^2+n}}{(-q;q^2)_{n+1}}. \] \textit{G. E. Andrews} [Q. J. Math., Oxf. II. Ser. 17, 64--80 (1966; Zbl 0136.05603)] introduced the following two-variable generalizations of the mock theta functions \(\omega(q)\) and \(\nu(q)\): \[ \omega(z;q) := \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{z^n\,q^{2n^2+2n}}{(q;q^2)_{n+1}\, (zq;q^2)_{n+1}} \] and \[ \nu(z;q) := \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{q^{n^2+n}}{(-zq;q^2)_{n+1}}. \] Recently, \textit{G. E. Andrews} and \textit{A. J. Yee} [Ramanujan J. 48, No. 3, 613--622 (2019; Zbl 1419.05022)] considered another generalization of \(\nu(q)\), namely, \[ \nu_1(z;q) := \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{z^n\,q^{n^2+n}}{(-q;q^2)_{n+1}} \] and established two beautiful identities \[ \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{q^{n}}{(zq^n;q)_{n+1}\, (zq^{2n+2};q^2)_{n+1}} = q\,\omega(z;q) \] and \[ \sum_{n=0}^\infty q^n\,(-zq^{n+1};q)_n\,(-zq^{2n+2};q^2)_\infty = \nu_1(z;-q). \] In this interesting paper, the authors provided generalizations of these two identities introducing the following three-variable generalizations of the mock theta functions \(\omega(q)\) and \(\nu(q)\): \[ \omega_1(\alpha,z;q) := \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{q^{2n}}{(-zq;q^2)_{n+1}\, (zq/\alpha;q^2)_{n+1}} \] and \[ \nu(\alpha,z;q) := \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{\alpha^n\, q^{n^2+n}}{(-zq;q^2)_{n+1}}. \] In this context, several new as well as well-known results are derived as applications of these generalizations.
