In the present paper, a lot of fixed point and coincidence point results over metric spaces are established via locally transitive binary relations introduced over these spaces. The following is the main result of this exposition. Theorem. Let \((M,d)\) be a metric space equipped with a binary relation \(R\), \(N\) be a \(R\)-complete subspace of \(M\), and \((T_1,T_2)\) be a pair of self mappings of \(M\). Suppose that (a) \(T_1(M)\subseteq T_2(M)\cap N\), (b) \(R\) s locally finitely \(T_1\)-transitive and \((T_1,T_2)\)-closed, (c) \(M(T_1,T_2,R)\) is nonempty, (d) there exists \(\phi\in \Phi\) such that \(d(T_1u,T_1v)\le \phi(d(T_2u,T_2v))\), for all \(u,v\in M\) with \((T_2u,T_2v)\in R\), (e) one of the conditional groups (e1)+(e2)+(e3) or (E1)+(E2) holds, where (e1) \(T_1\) and \(T_2\) are \(R\)-compatible, (e2) \(T_2\) is \(R\)-continuous, (e3) either \(T_1\) is \(R\)-continuous or \(R\) is \((T_1,T_2)\)-compatible and \((T_2,d)\)-self-closed, (E1) \(N\subseteq T_2(M)\), (E2) either \(T_1\) is \((T_2,R)\)-continuous or \(T_1\) and \(T_2\) are continuous or \(R\) and \(R|_{N}\) are \((T_1,T_2)\)-compatible and \(d\)-self-closed. Then, \(T_1\) and \(T_2\) have a coincidence point. Further aspects occasioned by these developments are also being discussed.
