The paper deals with the direct spectral theory for the isospectral problem of the conservative Camassa-Holm flow in the periodic setting. The Floquet theory for this problem is developed and the properties of the associated spectra are investigated. To this aim, the authors obtain trace formulas for the associated spectra and establish continuous dependence of these spectra on the coefficients with respect to a weak\(^{*}\) topology.
